About Dr. Sonam Maghera
Dr. Sonam Maghera is a sports and interventional musculoskeletal physician based in Ottawa, Canada. Her work focuses on the diagnosis and procedural management of joint, tendon, and soft-tissue conditions, with an emphasis on image-guided interventions and evidence-based care.
She completed her medical training at the University of Ottawa, where she also pursued fellowship training in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Dr. Maghera’s clinical practice includes ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative medicine therapies, and orthobiologic therapies for a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
In addition to clinical care, Dr. Maghera is actively involved in medical education as faculty with the University of Ottawa, teaching medical students and family medicine residents. She has also worked with medical teams supporting athletes at national and international sporting events across endurance, track and field, and figure skating disciplines.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Maghera has a longstanding personal interest in sport and movement and advocates for movement-based approaches to musculoskeletal health. She is also the creator of educational medical content aimed at improving patient understanding of musculoskeletal conditions and procedural care.
